Our Board

Christine Petzold is the President of the Officer David M. Petzold Memorial Foundation and one of Dave’s sisters.  She lives in West Chester, PA with her two children.  Christine graduated from West Chester University with a B.S. in Accounting in 1993.  In the years since then, she has worked in governmental, corporate, public and non-profit accounting.  Currently Christine works for the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner.  Her personal goal for the Foundation is simple: to help make a difference in the community and to make every effort to positively enhance the lives of those within the community that her brother loved so much.

Thomas Nicoletti: Vice President, is a native New Yorker living in the Lehigh Valley since 1994.  Tom attended DeSales University, located in Center Valley and graduated with his Bachelors Degree in 1998.  Tom loved the Lehigh Valley so much he decided to stay and joined the Upper Saucon Police force as a patrolman in 1999.  One of his first partners, on patrol was Dave Petzold.  Tom and Dave worked together several years as patrolmen and in 2003 were partnered as two of Upper Saucon’s first detectives.  They worked day and night as a tight knit team and grew to be close friends.  Dave’s passing left a void in Tom’s life, as it did for so many others.  Today, Tom tries to fill that void by volunteering with the Foundation and in doing so, assists in furthering Dave’s ideals.

Kimberly A. Fritts: Secretary, has been greatly involved in the Foundation since before its conception and is the Chairperson of the Beyond the Badge Gala Committee and Co-Chairperson of the Golf Tournament. She currently practices as a Physical Therapist for St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network.  She is the Orthopedic Team Leader, responsible for providing therapy services for patients who present to the hospital with numerous injuries of an orthopedic, neurologic, or traumatic nature.  She holds her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton.  She is married to her husband Michael, who is a police officer in Upper Saucon, and has two sons, Christopher and Adam. In her free time she enjoys playing golf. Her goal for the foundation is to provide the community and its children positive role models for hard work, and responsibility.

Cathy Pochek: Treasurer,  has been a friend of the Foundation since its formation.  She is usually the “lady behind the camera” at all Foundation events. Cathy has worked in accounting and collections for the last 24 years and is currently employed by Olympus America Inc. as a Credit Specialist.  She is a life long resident of the Southern Lehigh area and is a graduate of Southern Lehigh High School and attended Lehigh Carbon Community College studding business.  Cathy, lives with her husband Bert, a Coopersburg Police Officer, and her step-son Kyle.  In her free time, she enjoys photography, spending time at the beach and training her two German Shepherd Puppies.   Cathy is long time friend of Dave Petzold, and is honored to join the board to keep his vision moving forward.  Her goal is to make a difference in the community where she and her family live, work and serve.

Jason Apgar: Board Member, Lives in Emmaus with his wife Angela. He graduated from Moravian College in 1994 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice.  Jason worked with Dave Petzold in Upper Saucon early in his police career, before being hired by Emmaus Police where is currently employed as a Detective. He is also a member of the Lehigh County Computer Crimes Task Force, which operates out of the Officer David M. Petzold Digital Forensics Laboratory of Lehigh County at DeSales University. Jason is one of the Chairpersons for the annual golf tournament and also enjoys golfing in his free time.

Daniel Trexler: Board Member, Has been involved with the foundation since its formation, Dan is proud to serve on the board to continue to help make an impact in his community.  A native of the Lehigh Valley, Dan is a graduate of Emmaus High School.  After Graduation, he joined the United States Air Force.  After completion of his tour of duty, Dan attended the Allentown Police Academy and  returned to start his career with the Emmaus Police Department. Dan joined the Coopersburg Police Department in 1995 and worked side by side with Dave.  He currently is the Chief of the Coopersburg Police Department.  He lives locally with his wife Stacey and their two German Sheppard dogs, Gunner and Bear.


Former Board members:

Jessica Petzold-Slawter, the Foundation President from Feb 2008 thru May 2011 and Founder of the Officer David M. Petzold Memorial Foundation began this endeavor with the help of many family members and friends in loving memory of her late husband, Dave Petzold.  Dave was a son, brother, husband, father and an Upper Saucon Detective and always strived to make a positive impact in the community on and off duty.  Now, the foundation strives to make a positive impact, since Dave no longer can.

Steven Petzold, older brother of Dave Petzold was the Foundation Vice President from Feb 2008 thru May 2011.

Alison Mawson, sister-in-law of Dave Petzold was the Foundation Secretary from Feb 2008 thru May 2011.

Ed Harvey, family friend of Dave Petzold was a Foundation Board Member from Feb 2008 thru May 2011.
