In June, 14 students were embedded in the Criminal Justice field in a BIG way!  DeSales University along with assistance from the Petzold Foundation offered an exciting 3 day experience called CrimeF.I.T.E. (Forensics Investigator Training Experience). This program was held at DeSales University in Center Valley from June 21 through June 23.

This three-day training program offered an exciting and educational hands-on experience fostering the foundation and drive to inspire these students to take a close look into a Criminal Justice career.  During the first two days, local professionals discussed with program participants career opportunities in the criminal justice field, including coroner, detective, forensic analyst, and district attorney, just to name a few. Participation and analysis of a mock crime scene on the third day closed out this exciting training program.

One student was quoted as saying “it was the best money I ever spent! ”

All of the volunteer professionals really enjoyed this sharing experience and were very excited about participating next year to help yet another group of young students in their Criminal Justice careers.

Thank you to all volunteers for their time and effort!  Thank you also to the DeSales faculty members for their hard work and long hours coordinating this wonderful program.  Everyone involved is looking forward to making next years program even more exciting!

If you or your child are interested in participating in this unique opportunity in 2011, please contact the Petzold Foundation or Leala Kuchera from DeSales at 610.282.1100, ext. 1312.  Spaces will be limited, so act now!
